Beautiful sunsets behind tree tops

There are trees outside the big window across from my desk which means that I have a beautiful view while working, no matter what time of the year. There are pine trees and live oaks and turkey oaks.

Some time in late January turkey oaks drop all of their large, delicately shaped leaves and live oaks drop most of their leaves, depending on how cold it gets. And that’s the time of the year when I can actually see the houses on the parallel street across. That part I’m not all that excited about because I would choose the view of trees over the view of houses – any time. Yet, for a couple of winter months I also get to see the most beautiful sunsets right from behind my desk.

Some time in March of every year, though, all the oak trees around turn green again – literally overnight – and cover up the background of houses with greenery for the rest of the year. And then I get to enjoy pine needles and oak leaves, glistening in the sun and swaying with the wind – day after day.

Once the leaves reach their full size, my sunset displays are a lot smaller, but just as colorful!

Daria, This is beautiful! I think you are so lucky to have this view from your house.

I agree, Ruth, I sit there every day and feel very thankful… 🙂
Besides, it’s nice to rest my eyes by looking at the greenery outside when the computer screen starts feeling overwhelming.
