Jammies day

This is another ‘jammies day’ for me. My son is still sick so I don’t have to go anywhere. And on days like today I enjoy a freedom of being able to take a shower in the morning and change into another pajama and stay in the house all day long, spending my happy hours in writing, reading and sometimes watching a fun movie.

This morning, however, I was working on designing  a couple of new birthday cards. Two of my dear friends are having their birthdays in the next few days.

And since we’re having another stormy weather day with the rain pouring down Florida-style, my front yard and driveway are all flooded. In order to get the greeting card into the mail box and stay dry, I had to put my son’s old sneakers on – the pair that he is using for mowing. It looks like I’ll have to get myself a pair of rubber boots some time soon.

I made it securely across the new front-yard-pond and back and then my Chiranian Ally was all excited to go out, wagging her tail and waiting for me to open the garage door for her.

Unfortunately, Ally hates the rain (and taking baths) so – as soon as I opened the door and she saw all the rain coming down, she gracefully turned around and walked away.

This is going to be another fabulous jammies day – as long as I don’t run out of chocolate… 😉

I know what it’s like being able to spend all day in Jammies.

I used to work from home in Indiana, and the central air didn’t work very well in the front bedroom that was my office. It also had the sun beating in, and an old mini-computer (2-drawer filing cabinet size) that kicked out a lot of heat.

I used to get up in the morning and try to get a lot of work done earlier, and often I would work in just a pair of shorts and nothing else to try and stay cool.

I would love to be able to spend most days in just a tank top and shorts though and to be able to go barefoot as well.

I lived in South Florida for 3 years so I know what the rain is like. One evening my fiancee and I decided to order pizza, so we phoned in the order, but by the time we had to go pick it up the heavens opened and it was like a monsoon. We got drenched getting to the car, and again coming back, but we laughed all the way. Now whenever it rains like that we call it “pizza rain”.

I would love to have a jammies day. Sometimes I put on the ugliest clothes I have (my children would argue that most of my clothes are ugly) and work while completely comfortable. Hope your son feels better. (Thank you for commenting on my blog, by the way. I wonder if it isn’t too late to sign up for the A-Z Challenge. You’d have to play catch-up, but looks like you’ve got your J already 😉

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Ally is really cute (and definitely shows her genetics!) Jammies are the best way to spend a day. It’s raining here in NJ, too.

I love days when you can stay home and read, write, watch tv or just do what feels good. I live in sunny California so that is not something we get to do alot. This year I lost one of my banana plants to frost. I kept covering them at night but I still lost one. I have 2 left and I am really looking forward to bananas this year. Florida sounds like Hawaii. Lots of rain.

Ally is so cute! Does she get a rain jacket to go out in? I love doggie clothes.

Ally wouldn’t let me put anything on her, she doesn’t even wear a collar. Our Chiranian is a free spirit, like me… 🙂
