By Daria / June 21, 2013 Share Tweet Pin Share Share Once again I came across the inspiring Life is like coffee story, this time in a form of a video. I watched it, feeling thankful for this reminder of what really matters in life… . . Image credits . . Every now and then I catch myself “judging a book by the cover,” comparing myself to others, or paying too much attention to shiny short-term-pleasers, while forgetting to appreciate the present moment, and all the many things in life that really, really matter. I wish there was an alarm I could set up – that would start ringing loudly every time I cease to see, admire and praise all the beautiful things that life has to offer, every time I stop counting my blessings, every time I go on a rampage of pondering thoughts that don’t feel good. . . But – wait a minute… there is such an alarm, built into my soul by default, always monitoring every single thing I experience in my life, my dreams and my imagination, and giving me feedback, subtly, but persistently. When I love, enjoy or appreciate, I feel good. When I’m complaining or feeling upset, I get that heavy feeling in my abdomen reminding me of being off track. So – my only work would be to keep listening more closely… to a music from the coffee cup that’s life. . . Image credits . . And even if Life is like coffee, I do believe there’s nothing wrong with admiring the shiny exterior of the coffee cup. The most important thing, however, is to enjoy and appreciate every sip of the liquid inside that cup, its aroma and all. Life is precious and it’s supposed to be fun. And people who drink their coffee from the shiniest cups are not necessarily the happiest ones. . . . . . .
