New buds and new events

This is the third week in a row with an absolutely perfect spring weather and high temperatures in mid eighties during the day. On Saturday morning I noticed the first two 2011 buds on my orange-pink-yellow tea rose that I’ve had for years and that made my morning. Now I can’t wait to see and smell the blooms again…

Everything is bursting and sprouting all over the place and my yard is begging for some attention. I can pretty much handle most of the yard work. The only one task that I’ve never really mastered seems to be pruning – or better said shaping bushes and trees. But I think I’m getting better at pruning since my crape myrtle bloomed a lot last year.
