When is a good time to appreciate?

To me personally, the feeling of appreciation is one of those I like to practice, I like to feel and maintain for as long as possible – as often as possible. It’s one of those positive emotions that makes my heart sing and then my eyes see the world from a whole new, very colorful and cheerful perspective.

Appreciation makes me feel good and practicing thankfulness makes me think of the abundance of heartwarming things I have in my life – like wonderful family and friends, spacious home, the car that takes me anywhere I ever choose to go, the beautiful view I get to enjoy every time I work on my computer, all the things that are working out for me, my feisty dog who couldn’t be more loyal, happy music I get to enjoy while performed live or via videos on internet… and the list goes on and on and on… all the way to the sweet peppers, ripening in the planter right outside my kitchen.

Sweet peppers, ripening

Sweet peppers, ripening

I don’t think there’s a bad time to appreciate. I also know that the more I appreciate, the better I feel.

You should try it, too! It works like magic… 🙂

I try to remember that even when I’m having a miserable day, there is something to be grateful for. If nothing else, it makes me more appreciative of the good times.

You’re right, Clara, there’s always something to appreciate, no matter how bad the circumstances or how hopeless the life might look like at the moment. By simply keeping that in mind, life gets a whole lot easier – and a lot more fun!! 🙂

I love this. So to the point, just be happy. No time for anything else.

You’re a prime example of “just be happy” way of life, Ruth. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who invests more enlivening energy into having fun and laughing. I’ve learned a lot from you, thank you for being a good friend and a powerful teacher of happiness!! 🙂

Sorry, girl, I can’t tell you who the people on that photo are – but they all know where they are smiling from and they agreed to it. I wish you were there, too, we all do! 🙂
