Every now and then, when I want to get away from everything – and I don’t go out – I enjoy my own movie marathon.
I watch my movies on one of my computers, usually streaming them from Netflix. Most of the time I prefer something entertaining, something that makes me laugh. Films that make me tense or scared – I tend to avoid – as much as possible.
And since watching the moving picture for hours means a lot of sitting still – or laying on my bed – I create my own intermissions. To stretch my body and do some physical activity, I do small chores – one at the time – like scrubbing my bathtub of bathroom sink, vacuuming, dusting, re-decorating, watering my plants and so on.
That has a double benefit. I get my body moving – and after the whole day spending in front of the computer screen watching movies, I have no guilty feelings that I didn’t take care of any chores, begging for my attention.
