Sometimes life kind of forces us to become more aware of certain things in our lives and that’s what’s happening to me these days. For probably the longest time that I can remember I’ve been extremely happy and everything went well. Then, all of a sudden life offered some contrast and stressful situations.
A dear friend passed on and ever since I had to put a lot more effort into looking for things that pull me out of sadness. And that’s when I realized what an easy way our pets have – to get us out of the blue moods.
For a few days I’ve been taking a brisk walk twice a day – to my neighbors’ house – to feed their dog and two miniature pet goats. These little creatures make me smile every time I get there. They greet me and wag their tails, all excited about getting some food.
And there’s my Chiranian Ally, little dog that simply demands my attention a few times a day, makes me laugh because she is so funny, and puts me straight into loving, appreciative attitude. I have to admit that I feel impressed and thankful very often – by how easily and quickly my feelings get transformed in the presence of beloved pets.
